Eduka System
— Now it’s called Buwhan Edu
Technology-based learning media that focuses on improving Indonesian students’ skills in solving complex problems.
We face a problem where our app’s rating in the Google Play Store was bad; it’s hovering on 2 to 3 stars. I did several analyses about this, helping the design team on doing user testing, and delivered several features that were really loved by the users. One thing that I learned is that the majority of our users were very satisfied with the platform, but no one leaves a review when it’s good.
I launched a campaign with the marketing team to incentivize users that willingly leave reviews on the Play Store, regardless of what review they gave. By also delivering a total of 3 essential features and 3 new products alongside optimizing Android applications that impacted the increase of Play Store rating to 4.9.
Gamification
Ideally, people come to Eduka for evaluation (they already have a basic understanding of the material). We want to know how many users come directly to our platform without having basic material (so with the hope that they will come to Eduka to learn from 0). Second, so that we can determine if it turns out that many people come to Eduka to learn, what strategy do we want to implement to fill that gap? That’s where we come out with gamification, where the main problem with students, especially for grades lower than 12th, is that they don’t have the motivation to start learning outside of their formal school.
We did student behavior analysis for 10th and 11th grade students to determine our approach for gamification.

To address these problems I created a flow diagram and product requirements of how I think a leveling system was necessary on this.

This houses several features like profile pictures, badges, leveling and EXP, leaderboards, and even recommendations about their major.

Eduka Pay
Previously, we depended on third-party platforms to facilitate the purchase of our products by users. While this approach provided convenience and accessibility, it also came with limitations, such as reduced control over the user experience, transaction fees, and potential restrictions imposed by external platforms.
To address these challenges and enhance our operations, we aim to develop our own in-house platform for product purchases. This will allow us to streamline the buying process, offer a more personalized user experience, reduce dependency on external services, and potentially improve profitability by eliminating third-party fees. Additionally, having an in-house platform will enable us to implement features tailored to our customers’ needs, ensuring a smoother and more seamless purchasing journey.
